Transformer questions, answered straight
How fast can you deliver a reconditioned transformer in Western Canada?
Units in our Victoria, BC yard ship in 1–2 weeks. Units from partner yards typically land in 2–6 weeks including freight. Compare that with 40–100 week OEM lead times on new medium-power transformers.
What testing does a reconditioned transformer go through before shipping?
Every liquid-filled unit passes turns-ratio (TTR), insulation resistance (megger), winding resistance, and dissolved-gas/oil quality analysis; power factor testing where applicable. Dry-types get TTR, insulation resistance, and winding resistance. You receive the full written test report with the unit.
Do reconditioned transformers come with a warranty?
Yes — a 1-year warranty is standard on every unit we sell. Warranty terms are stated in writing with each quote.
What sizes and voltages do you stock?
Typically 75 kVA to 3000+ kVA, pad-mount, pole-mount, substation, and dry-type, with primaries from 4160V through 25kV and secondaries including 600Y/347, 480Y/277, and 208Y/120. If it is not in the yard, we source from a network of yards across North America.
Can you match a transformer from a nameplate photo?
Yes. Email a photo of the nameplate to hello@westgridpower.ca or attach the specs to the quote form — we will match kVA, voltages, impedance, and mounting, and come back within 48 hours with price and lead time.
Do you deliver outside British Columbia?
Yes. Western Canada — BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba — is our core market, and we ship anywhere else in North America the project needs. Pricing is in CAD, and we handle freight, rigging coordination, and customs on cross-border units.
